New APN Subsidized Housing Loans Announced, Part 2
Invitation to customers for the submission of documentation in March

The ministry predicts that on March 9, an advertisement for subsidizing housing loans will be published, and from then on, citizens will also be able to submit their applications for loans to banks.

In the published hodogram, March 21 is indicated as the date when banks will begin submitting applications for subsidies to the Agency for Legal Transport and Real Estate Brokerage (APN) on behalf of their clients.

The advertisement will last until the expenditure of the insured funds, that is, until the announcement of termination is published, the Ministry noted.

More than 22 thousand subsidies on housing loans have been approved so far

They recalled that the Law on Subsidizing Housing Loans made it possible to subsidize the monthly amount of the installment or annuity of the beneficiaries of loans for a housing loan that they take from credit institutions for the purchase of an apartment or house, ie for the construction of a house, all for the purpose of solving the housing issue.

The APN considers it a demographic measure

They also pointed out that young people recognized this measure as extremely important, with data on 22,169 approved applications for subsidies since the beginning of the implementation of this measure in 2017 and ending with the last call in March 2021.

Subsidy for the first five years of repayment

The State subsidy is granted for the first five years of repayment of the loan, with the possibility of an extension of two years for each live-born or adopted child in the period of subsidizing the loan.

The extension of subsidies for an additional year per child is also allowed for families who already have children at the time of application, as well as in the event that the applicant or a member of his family household has an established disability of more than 50 percent physical impairment.

The measure can be used by all citizens of the Republic of Croatia who are under the age of 45 and who do not own an apartment or house. The loan subsidy is granted for the purchase of an apartment or house, ie the construction of a house up to a maximum of 1500 euros per square meter or up to a maximum loan amount of 100 thousand euros in kuna equivalent, with a loan repayment period not to be less than 15 years.

The amount of the subsidy depends on the development index of the place where the property is purchased or built, and ranges from 30 to 51 percent of the loan installment amount. The largest subsidies are received by those who buy an apartment or house or build a house in the most underdeveloped areas, while 30 percent of the monthly loan installment goes to those who have decided to buy or build a property in urban centers such as Zagreb, the Ministry noted.
