General Regulation of the Personal Data Protection Act
Consultation held on “Modernization of data protection legislation — General Regulation (GDPR)”, Croatian Chamber of Crafts
The new European regulatory framework for the protection of personal data (General Data Protection Regulation — GDPR) was discussed by Petra Papić, Senior Advisor at the Personal Data Protection Service, Nada Novak, Senior Advisor at the Supervisory Service and the Central Registry and Igor Vulje, Head of the Supervisory Service and the Central Registry.
In addition to the general overview of the Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), the lecturers also introduced numerous craftsmen who participated in this consultation free of charge to the duties of the personal data protection officer under the GDPR.On several occasions, the importance of consent when collecting data was emphasized, and in particular the importance of respecting the right to rectification and the right to erasure of data that may have been consented at some point was also highlighted many days, but the respondent has the right to change his mind at any time. In particular, the importance of “self-protection” of artisans is emphasized by concluding quality and detailed contracts with all stakeholders with whom they establish partnerships and cooperation, in which it will be indicated how the requested data are planned to be used.
At the end of the presentation, the craftsmen had the opportunity to ask numerous questions and many took advantage of this opportunity orally, and the lecturers answered the inquiries received in writing.
