REAL ESTATE SALES TAX

Due to the daily questions of Buyers what is the real estate sales tax, how, to whom and when it is paid, here we give you a detailed answer.
1. What is the real estate sales tax in Croatia?
The real estate sales tax in the Republic of Croatia is taxed at a uniform tax rate of 3% of the total agreed purchase and sale price of the property.
2. What is the deadline for paying real estate sales tax in Croatia?
After the conclusion of the contract of sale, the Notary Public will officially report the purchase to the competent tax office, within 30 days counting from the date of certification of the Contract. The buyer is also obliged to pay the tax within 15 days from the date of issuance of the decision from the competent Tax Administration, and if he does not pay it within this period, the Tax Administration charges interest for each day of exceeding the deadline.
And for the end.. The legal incentive for the purchase of the first real estate has been abolished, and each Buyer is subject to payment of real estate sales tax!
